Dear Onsen friends,

We have many exciting things coming up this month—including celebrating the moms in our lives. Our Waffle Spa Set, which includes our bestselling robe and a towel set, is basically made for moms. And you can’t go wrong with the Waffle Complete Set—which bundles a bath sheet and towel, plus hand and face towels.

As a little sneaky hint for other exciting things to come, I also wanted to share a peek behind the (shower) curtain and talk about how we choose new colors. It’s one of the most fun but also the hardest parts of my job!

The world of color is vast and overwhelming. There are nearly infinite shades, so when you’re choosing colors for a specific brand, some systems and guardrails are essential.

At Onsen, all our colorways fall into two categories: Sky and Earth. Stay tuned for a new color launch later this month that’s part of the Sky Collection, which features lighter colors and softer, cooler tones. Think: dawn’s first light, fresh dew drops, and the calming hues of dusk. This color reminds me of clouds drifting across a perfect, early summer sky (can you guess what it is?! One of our most requested shades!)

The other category, Earth, is inspired by vibrant terrain and features darker colors with deeper, moodier tones. These colors are meant to be grounding and relaxing. Think: dense forests and autumn landscapes. You’ll recognize our Forest and Golden Ochre colorways from this collection.
